TanenbaumCHAT is a not-for-profit charitable entity, properly constituted and under the direction of an elected Board of Directors. The Board, most of whom are active parents in the school, meet regularly and delegate some functions to committees. They set policy for the school and oversee school operations, ensuring that the school is run responsibly, is fiscally sound, and is operating according to the Statement of Philosophy and Purpose

While the Board oversees and sets policy, operations of the school is the professional responsibility of the staff, and the Administration, headed by the Director of Education.
