The TanenbaumCHAT Alumni Association Executive Committee serves as the central organizing body of the TanenbaumCHAT Alumni Association, working in partnership with the school's leadership to foster meaningful, lifelong relationships between TanenbaumCHAT and its alumni. The Committee is committed to advancing the mission and values of TanenbaumCHAT, and looks forward to helping TanenbaumCHAT cultivate an engaged, informed, and connected alumni community.
Cory Capland ‘09 is the President and Managing Partner of Peakhill Opportunity REIT, specializing in acquiring and managing income-generating apartment assets across Canada. He has led real estate acquisitions, financing, and recapitalizations totaling over $700 million in partnership with some of Canada's largest family offices and institutions investors.
Cory is a CFA Charterholder, holds an Honours BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is a proud TanenbaumCHAT Kimel graduate. An avid basketball player, Cory has represented Canada in the Maccabiah Games on multiple occasions in Israel, Argentina, Brazil, and Italy. Cory resides in Toronto with his wife Melanie Capland '09 and kids, and is a frequent diner at United Bakers.
Melissa Eisen ‘08 is a lawyer and the Director of Canadian Operations and Legal Recruitment at Dickinson Wright LLP. She is a proud TanenbaumCHAT alum (married to another TanenbaumCHAT alum), mother of three, and committed to supporting the Jewish community through her involvement in various charitable events and initiatives.
Eric Frydrych ‘10 graduated from TanenbaumCHAT Kimel and is currently working as in-house legal counsel at OMERS. He started his career in McCarthy Tétrault LLP's corporate group.
Rony Malev ‘17 is a Financial Advisor at Raymond James Ltd. in downtown Toronto. A proud TanenbaumCHAT graduate, Rony was actively involved during her years at the school and is passionate about preserving its unique spirit beyond graduation. She hopes to strengthen connections within the alumni community and give back to the school that played such a formative role in her teenage years.
Hila Meisels ‘92 is an interior designer and the parent of two former TanenbaumCHAT class presidents, with two additional children entering TanenbaumCHAT next year. Hila looks forward to contributing to the Alumni Executive Committee and supporting the continued development of TanenbaumCHAT’s alumni community. Having experienced the school both as a student and as a parent, Hila values its lasting impact and is committed to giving back in a meaningful way.
Evan Zaretsky ‘99 was born, raised and continues to call Toronto home where he lives with his wife and three children. A proud CHAT grad from '99 he went on to study at York, Western, McGill, and UofToronto, and practices in Whitby as a pediatric dentist.
Rebecca Zaretsky ‘03 is currently practising law as a sole practitioner in the area of professional regulation and workplace investigations and was recently appointed as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court. She has one son in the day school system who, as he told Zach Hyman at hockey camp this summer, plans to attend TanenbaumCHAT like his Mom (and Zach) when the time comes.
Tal Zeev ‘22 is in his fourth year studying business at the Ivey Business School. He’s excited to be part of this committee and help elevate initiatives that strengthen and support our amazing alumni community.
