Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Advancement Officer supports the development and implementation of a wide range of engagement and fundraising strategies. These include strategic relationship coordination, donor and volunteer recognition and stewardship, and committee support and communications. The Advancement Officer plays a support role in planning, designing and organizing activities, special events and other engagement initiatives. Duties require taking a lead on special projects or assignments, maintaining strategic relationships, liaising with many departments of the school, and interacting comfortably with a wide range of people including school and lay leaders.

Responsibilities include:

● Under the guidance of the Director of Philanthropy, works with external vendors and internal staff to
coordinate projects to meet the fund-raising objectives of the department.
● Works with the senior advancement staff to identify, research and cultivate prospects for
increased annual fund and major gift giving.
● Supports all fundraising initiatives.
● Assists with the planning and implementation of cultivation and stewardship events for a range of constituencies.
● Other similar duties as assigned.Education, skills and experience:

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

● University Degree or College Diploma/Certificate a strong asset
● The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, preferably working in a non-profit advancement department
● Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising and stewardship
● Experience in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with colleagues throughout the school, alumni, other constituents and the public to achieve institutional goals
● Strong communication and writing skills; the ability to interact with a variety of people and clearly convey information in writing and in person; proven project-management skills.
● Highly computer literate and able to work effectively with fundraising software to drive results
● Skills to effectively coordinate multiple projects, deadlines and priorities
● Ability to work with sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast- paced environment.
● Understand and demonstrate the School ethos to staff, students and parents
● Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
