The Shlichim will report to Principal or Vice-Principal and will work in close partnership with the Directors of Student Activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Main Duties:
  • Fostering a connection between our students and the people of Israel (making connections with schools, organizations and Israeli teenagers)

  • Helping plan the Israeli chagim (Yom Hazikaron, Yom Ha'atzmaut, Yom Yerushalayim) and Israel-or Hebrew- related days (e.g. Yom Ivrit, Shavua Yisrael etc...)
  • Supporting the effort to increase the percentage of students spending a gap year in Israel
  • Increasing awareness of current events in Israel
  • Creating an “avira yisraelit” (Israeli environment) in hallways with posters, music, decorations

  • Offering periodic lunch and learn sessions for staff
  • Working with Hillel shlichim and other campus professionals to ensure a good “hand-off” from TanenbaumCHAT to university life
  • Working with Shinshinim to enhance their participation in student life at TanenbaumCHAT
  • Collaborating with staff and student to bring new and innovative Israel engagement initiatives to TanenbaumCHAT
